Is Finding A Wingman To GoTo The Club With You Worth It

Monday, December 31st, 2007

By Teddy Shabba Having a great wingman at the club can be great when approaching groups of women. Looking for a wingman to help you attract women is an extraordinary waste of time; unless you meet a great wingman at the club, or already work or know of one. Looking for one will at best result in you finding an average wingman and even worst you are ore likely to find some guy who is going to hurt your chances of success rather than help. The main problem is a great wingman doesn’t need a wingman and therefore isn’t looking for a wingman. In other words, a man looking for a wingman already is acknowledging that he will at best be an average wingman. Now, when two average wingmen meet up with each other they are actually worst off that if they had shown up alone. Whoever approaches the group of women first in reality doesn’t need the other guy except when he wants to isolate the woman he is talking to. Which if you are good you can easily do on your own either by bringing in another random group of women you already met or telling the other women you are going to take their friend for a while. Of course, with two average wingmen together they both will approach which causes greater suspicion among the group and still requires one to take the backseat to the other. The truth is the only time you might need a wingman is on a double date. In the end, what benefit do you imagine you will get from a great wingman? When you know the answer to this you then will know exactly what you need to work on in order to improve yourself. Begin With the End in Mind

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

By David M. Havard Without proper motivation, it is hard to go on. If we ask ourselves why we are doing something and we dont have an answer, it is hard to keep giving our best efforts to the task at hand. Unfortunately, when many churches are asked why they bother to do what they do, they often do not have an answer. Likewise, when many believers are asked what difference their faith makes in a practical sense, they, too, are at a loss for words. Before the church can answer these questions of why, individual believers must first come up with an answer as to what difference it makes to be a Christian and specifically, a grace believer. At times, we can become like David, vexed and frustrated at the pride and wealth of the wicked: For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily. They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth. Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them. And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High? Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency. For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning. If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children. When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end (Psa. 73:3-17). Notice how David was able to cope with these thoughts. As long as he considered the present tense of things, he could easily be discouraged. The same is true of us today. At the present time, the world system does seem to be winning. But like David, our answer lies in considering not the now, but the end. Notice verse 17, Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Understanding the end is essential in maintaining a proper perspectiveboth of the wicked and of ourselves. Without understanding our end (and theirs), it is all too easy to become discouraged and distracted. Perhaps this is why Paul writes in Galatians 6:9, And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. We faint or become weary and quit when we lose sight of our goal. When we forget what its all about, it is easy to get caught up in the worlds definition of success. Soon we start thinking that success is measured by material things, by power, or by fame. Then, as we start to measure ourselves by these things, we begin to compare our measure of things, power, or fame with that of the world, and most believers will always come up shortespecially those involved in ministry. But when we begin with the end in mind (to borrow the words of Steven Covey) we can make proper decisions in the meantime. Today most people seem obsessed with the idea of preparing for retirement. They fret, worry, plan, and save for their golden years. They understand that they only have a limited window of opportunity to maximize their investments for retirement. They realize that retirement age will be upon them before they know it; but unfortunately, they fail to give much thought to what comes after retirement. Actually, we have quite a long time to prepare for retirement. On average, we probably will have twice as long to prepare for retirement than we do for retirement itself. Unfortunately, many people do not start to think about retirement until they are in their 30s or 40s. The longer they wait to prepare, the greater their sense of urgency. With the recognition of the need to prepare for a relatively short earthly retirement, it is sad that we do not recognize the need to prepare and invest for spiritual things. For this earthly retirement, we have about 40 years to prepare for 20. But for our heavenly retirement, what is 85 years compared to eternity? What about the person saved later in life? The Apostle Paul was just such a person. He had invested the first third or half of his life in the wrong things. He looks back and realizes that all of his life before Christ was nothing more than spiritual junk bondsworthless (Phil. 3:7-8). But after his conversion, the Apostle Paul maintained a sharply focused life (Phil. 3:10; Acts 20:24). In his epistles he urges us to have the same focus and dedication in pursuing our spiritual aims (I Cor. 9:24-27; Phil. 3:13-14). He says that we shall reap IF we faint not (Gal. 6:9). Like physical investments, our spiritual investments must be made for the long haul. Longfellow is quoted as saying, Many men do not allow their principles to take root, but pull them up every now and then, as children do flowers they have planted, to see if they are growing. Some folks approach their spiritual investments the same way. Rather than allowing their spiritual fruit to abound to their account (Phil. 4:17), they make withdrawals and wander from the path of wise spiritual investments. Investing for retirement requires sacrifice. We have to understand the principle of delayed gratification. At times, this sacrifice will seem especially burdensome. If we forget why we are doing what we are doing during such times, we will be tempted to abandon our plan. The same is true spiritually. If we ever forget the true end of all things we will be tempted to start living for the now. Many people suddenly find themselves at retirement age and are filled with regret and remorse because they did not make preparation for this final chapter of their life. If failing to prepare for this creates regret, imagine how the person feels who finds himself in eternitysaved, but spiritually bankrupt because he just never got around to making those spiritual investments. Like the person who didnt plan for retirement, he had good intentionshe always intended to get ready, he always planned to do something, but time kept marching on and before he knew it, it was too late. Notice what Paul says in I Timothy 6:17-19, Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. Notice his wordslaying up in storethis speaks of spiritual investments. Distractions are a constant source of temptation to any investor. In this life, there is always that new car, a bigger house, or an extended vacation to tempt the investor to divert his retirement funds. Would he enjoy these things? Most probably, he would. But he would pay the price later on. Likewise, the world constantly tempts us to divert from our spiritual investments. Satan is always sending us spiritual junk mail and ringing our telephone with his latest offer of temporal pleasure. If we do not remain focused on our goal, if we do not remember the end of all things, we can easily give in to Satans schemes. What can we do to remain focused and on track spiritually? Well, one key is to understandreally understand, the relevance of the mystery to Gods plan for today. We read in Ephesians 1:3 that we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Notice where the sphere of our blessings is foundin the heavenlies. Nowhere in Pauls epistles are we said to be blessed with all blessings in the here and now. We understand that, as the old song goes, This world is not my home, Im just a-passing through. My treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue. If we fail to understand that we have a heavenly hope, not an earthly hope, we will more easily be sucked into the whirlpool of this world system. There we will find ourselves trying to measure spiritual things with a materialistic yardstickand that just doesnt work! In this era of economic prosperity, it is easy to fall into the trap of comparing our material and economic standing with others. And human nature being what it is, we usually compare ourselves to those who are much better off, than we do to those who are not so blessed. However, by understanding the dispensation of the grace of God, that message given to Paul and passed on to us, we can begin to learn how to have spiritual discernment. We can learn how to redeem the timeto make the most of our opportunities today in making our spiritual investments for tomorrow (Eph. 5:16). We understand that we are not to expect material blessing during this present ageat least not as a result or indicator of true spirituality. We understand that the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. As Paul said in II Corinthians 4:17-18, For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. An eternal weight of glory! This is the end that we should have in mind! This article originally appeared in the Berean Searchlight, the free monthly magazine of the Berean Bible Society. Six Fun and Easy Kid Math Activity Ideas

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

By Nancy Johnson Math is a part of everyday life. We use math when go shopping, calculate distance when traveling, cook a yummy recipe, plant a garden, and play games. Kids can learn math concepts such as estimating, word problems, time and distance, measurement and basic addition and subtraction when playing games. Here are six different kid math activity ideas that are easy and fun: Counting games include putting jelly beans or candy corn into a large clear jar. Have kids look at the jar and estimate the number of candy pieces they think might be in the jar. Then as a group, count out the candy and see who had the closest guess. Play a guessing game with coins. Give each child one of each kind of coin. Ask questions such as; five of this coin adds up to a nickel. Gradually ask harder questions once the child masters each question. Practice addition by asking what coins make 35 cents or how many pennies will he or she give you for a dime? When traveling, point out speed limits and distances to travel from one place to another. Let them use a map and calculate how long it will take to travel between two towns. Have kids figure out the time to travel a particular distance when driving at different speeds. Cooking is a wonderful way to practice many math skills. Lets them help measure out ingredients and discuss fractions with them. How many quarter cups are there in one cup? Make a pizza and cut into eight slices. How many slices are there in one-half of the pizza? Talk about cooking times and temperatures with kids. Let them use a thermometer to test cold or hot food items. Have them help with gardening and measure how tall the plants grow. They can use a measuring tape or ruler to plant seeds a specific distance apart. Or have kids draw a diagram of their bedroom and measure how big the room is. They can measure the doorway, windows, closet etc. Play games such as tic-tac-toe, checkers, chess, card and dice games. These games encourage counting, finding patterns, and solving problems. A fun dice game includes drawing a funny creature. To play the game, you need a pair of dice, plain paper, and markers. Kids will roll the dice and add the two numbers together. Whatever the answer is they will draw that corresponding creature feature on their paper. Roll the sum of 2 and draw a noseRoll the sum of 3 and draw a mouthRoll the sum of 4 and draw earsRoll the sum of 5 or 6 and draw a legRoll the sum of 7 and draw a headRoll the sum of 8 and draw hairRoll the sum of 9 and draw a tailRoll the sum of 10 or 11 and draw an eyeRoll the sum of 12 and draw an arm Each player should have at least six turns to create a funny creature. Afterwards discuss their creatures, how many eyes or legs do they have? They can even discuss the statistics of which numbers came up the most when rolling the dice. Quick Guide to Secured Homeowner Loans

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kirthy_Shetty]Kirthy Shetty Human wants are never-ending as one feels like being caught in a vicious circle of desires and wants. Once one want is fulfilled the other arises in its place craving to be fulfilled. With the limited income of man fulfilling all the needs is quite impossible. Based on the urgency we will have to prioritise our needs. In todays world financing your needs has been made much simpler with secured loans. Secured loan is the best option of loan for people who own their home and feel the need of Personal loan. It requires the borrower to provide the lender with some form of security. In the case of secured loans, the security will be the borrower’s property, regardless of whether it is mortgaged or owned outright. Loans secured against property that is already mortgaged are known as second charges, whereas loans secured against a property owned outright with no existing mortgage in place are known as first charges. Benefits that one shares with this would be Low APR(Annual Percentage Rate), larger amount paid with collateral laid out and there would be a longer period of time for repayment. One does even have the option of consolidating his/her debt by using up property as collateral. If you have already mortgaged your house but pay a higher rate of interest you could then apply for a remortgage loan. It acts as proficient debt management tool because it is possible to spread payments to term of up to 25 years. Since in secured loan the lender is guaranteed to recover their money in any circumstances the APR tends to be as less as 6.9% compared to any other loans. Secured Loan are made available for many different purposes and are ideally suited for large amounts ranging from 5,000 up to 2,50,000. John Polkinghorne on Science and Providence

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

By Britt Peterson To those even vaguely familiar with the field of science-and-religion, John Polkinghorne hardly needs an introduction. In the 1970s he left an impressive career as professor of mathematical physics at Cambridge University to become an Anglican priest. Using his training in both science and religion, he has written several books that seek to bridge those two worlds. Science & Theology News asked Polkinghorne about his most recent book Science and Providence and what contribution it makes to the field of science-and-religion. What inspired you to write this book? I wrote the book because I thought it important to show that science was consistent not only with a picture of God as the source of cosmic order and fruitfulness but also with a theistic understanding of divine providence at work in the history of the world, operating through interaction within the open grain of natural process. This is the kind of God to whom religious believers pray, and science, properly understood, does not forbid them to do so. How does this book fit into the field of science-and-religion? The topic of divine action, raised in the book, was the subject of much subsequent discussion to which I also made further contributions. It is clear that science, carefully evaluated, has not demonstrated the causal closure of the world, so the defeaters, who were claiming that physics kept God out of history, have been defeated. For you, what is the most challenging part of writing? The challenge in all interdisciplinary writing, including writing on science and religion, is to be clear in setting the arguments before the reader, who often will not be an expert in all the topics discussed, while being scrupulous in giving a truthful and accurate account of the ideas involved. What is the most rewarding part of writing? The greatest reward comes from being able to help people gain a deeper understanding of issues of great significance. What advice would you give to new writers in the field? I would particularly encourage more writers whose expertise lies in the human sciences, such as psychology and neuroscience, to make more contributions to the literature. This part of the frontier between science and religion is clearly an area of great importance, and one that is still relatively under-explored. Britt Peterson is an editorial intern at Science & Theology News. A Wedding Shower Invitation Should Be Attractive And Stylish!

Monday, December 24th, 2007

By Mike Yeager Wedding shower invitations should lay out all of the necessary information, yet still be attractive. One way to do this is to have a picture engraved on the invitation. Ask your engraver to add a small design on the inside of your invitation or wherever you have information about the reception. If, for example, an ice cream social is your theme see if there is an ice cream cone or Sundae dish they can emboss onto the paper without taking away from the main body of the invitation. Remember that subtlety is stylish; you dont want to come across as overpowering with your theme. It may be difficult sometimes to know who to invite to the wedding shower. As a general rule, the wedding shower hostess or hostesses should invite all family members of both the bride and the groom. She should also invite close friends of the bride and the bride’s family. She may also want to invite some of the bride-to-be’s co-workers. She should be sure to consult with the bride when compiling the guest list. Try to organize the people invited so some will set up the wedding shower game, someone else will set up the wedding shower favor, and so on. What do I put on a wedding Shower Invitation? The wedding shower invitation should include the name of the bride to be, the date and time of the shower, and the address and phone number of the hostess/hostesses. If you are concerned about the attendance at your wedding shower, consider including on the invitation a deadline date for the RSVP. (This is usually about two weeks prior to the shower date.) It may be difficult to make up a wedding shower invitation without prior experience. Because of this, it may be a good idea to have the same person who did your bridal shower invitation to also do your wedding shower invitation. Don’t Sell Things in God’s House. Mark 11:15-17, John 2:15-16

Monday, December 24th, 2007

By Matthew Robert Payne Mark 11:15-17 (New King James Version) 15 So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 16 And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. 17 Then He taught, saying to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations? But you have made it a den of thieves. John 2:15-16 (New King James Version) 15 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers money and overturned the tables. 16 And He said to those who sold doves, Take these things away! Do not make My Fathers house a house of merchandise! We live a long time from the days of Jesus. Its quite interesting to read that Jesus overturned the money changers tables not once but twice. He did it in his first week in the public ministry and in the last week before He was crucified on the cross. Its not the sort of thing that would be done these days unless and man of God was out of his mind. (or ordered by the Lord to do it with a camera crew) In my city of Sydney I have two churches that are quite big churches that have a book store in their lobbies. In one of the churches at every service they promote a book and a CD set that are on sale at the bookshop. Part of the promotion involves a few of the books and CD sets being given away to the audience. This blatant promotion is selling in the Lords house. In advertising a good way to find hot prospects for a service is to offer a competition for six months supply of the product. All the people that clip the coupon want the product. The same goes for the people in the audience that put their hands up to get the free product that the minister promotes. Many of the people that wanted to get the book for free will soon find themselves in the bookshop purchasing what they couldnt get for free. Sure we havent got doves in the church and money changers, but there are certain churches that have a mini sermon before the offering is taken up each week. The sermon is on giving and how we will be blessed if we give. Each week the people are told to give and to give and each week the tithing message is right after the praise and worship as though the people have been whipped into a frenzy so that they might give. Giving is an act of faith on the person who is giving. Similar to healing it is up to the person giving to have faith that God shall supply all their needs with 90% of their income rather then the 100% without a weekly tithe to the house of God. It all comes down to faith. There are some mega churches that have been built from the generous giving of righteous and faithful people and there are some mult-millionaire rich and wealthy preachers of the Word who have become rich from the giving of the widows. Titus 1:10-11 (New King James Version) 10 For there are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11 whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain. When a person sees the fruit of tithing and has testimony of Gods faithfulness they are not often swayed from it. Surely the testimonies of normal folk would solve the tithing issue once and for all. Its just faith; its the personal faith of the giver that is in question and their faith need to be strengthened. My brother at the moment does not like going to his church because of the tithing message each week. He tithes but he resents the preaching of it each week in the service. Selling God is not something God had in mind when he had the Bible written. The Word of God should be preached for free from the pulpit without a person feeling guilty because they are not tithing. There are hundreds of books out there and there are hundreds being writing today all around the world. Much money is being made from the gospel even millions being made on the subject of tithing. Jesus would possibly object to the tithing message and the promotion of books at each church service. He would object to people publishing books and making millions when the same books could be free online and able to be read online until the person simply buys the book as they get sick of reading off a monitor. There is so much information out there and so few Christian ministries offering information that is worthwhile for free on the Internet. Yet the Internet is a medium that has made, Freely you have received freely give, a living reality. If you have written a chapter for a book, it only takes a few minutes to put that on an Internet site. Today a man could go into a church and with a camera following him could go into the lobby of that church and start to rip up books and tear down CD racks and music CDs and have the whole video given to the world news services. He could pull out a whip and start to whip the bouncers who are sent to stop him and the world news would make a good story of it. In my sadder days I have contemplated being that man as long as I could take a laptop to prison. We have to be careful to tread a line between suggesting and selling. I know some books have transformed my life and if asked to speak on the subject I would include a reference to the book I loved and suggest people buy it. But when we have a five minute sales plug in every service we really are selling in Gods house of prayer. Matthew shares his heart in these articles and can be found at http://www.online-prayer.net You can read more of his articles at his link below. If you want a copy of his upcoming book of articles which will have the first sixty of the articles on this web-site called “The Musings of a Mad Prophet” please contact Matthew via email so he can contact you around February 2007 to tell you of the progress of the book. Do You Need a Lawn Tractor

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Andrew Caxton Taking care of a lawn is very important if you want it to look its best. Using a lawnmower needs to be done on a regular basis in order to keep it short and looking great. However, it is a hard task for a lot of people out there who have acres of land full of grass. Using a normal lawnmower on a lot of land could be a very tiring task and therefore it does put a lot of people off cutting their grass. This is where a lawn tractor could be of great benefit as it is one of the most powerful tools a gardener could ever wish for. What Are The Benefits Of A Lawn Tractor? The benefits of a lawn tractor are apparent for everyone to see and if you have one, the results truly are amazing. There will be no need for traditional lawnmowers anymore and hours of cutting every strand of grass and worrying about missing any will be long gone. With a lawn tractor it will really help people who have little time to cut the grass and it will be extremely easy too. They are very reliable and they are fast as well as being fun and easy to manoeuvre. Remember Safety When Using a Lawn Tractor Having a lawn tractor can be extremely fun and a lot of people would love to have one. However, as well as it being easy and fun, there are safety issues with a lawn tractor and unless respected, they could be a potential lethal weapon. Things can sometimes go out of control, therefore putting you and others in danger so it is important to follow safety guidelines when using the lawn tractor. What Can You Do To Make Things Safer When Using A Lawn Tractor? You may be aware of how dangerous a lawn tractor can be, but you may not be aware of what you can do to make things a lot safer. Before you start, you should look for any obstructions in the way; otherwise the tractor could run over things and even send sharp bits of debris flying into the air. Also, it is important to wear safety gear when using the lawn tractor, such as protective shoes and even safety goggles or glasses. This may seem a bit drastic but it could even save you from a serious injury if things were to go wrong. It is very important to not become complacent with a lawn tractor at any time, even if you have been driving one for many years. It only takes one incident to change things and it could even be fatal. So, always know what to look out for, keep safety in mind and you should be able to use a lawn tractor safely and easily. By Jason Gluckman Want to see what’s really going on under the water or ice? You can eliminate some of the mystery beneath the water or ice and expand your knowledge by using an underwater fishing camera. An underwater fishing camera can be a wonderful tool and great fun too. An underwater camera can show you many things about your fishing techniques. It can be your eye underwater and you won’t even get wet. See more fish, catch more fish, and have more fun fishing with an underwater fishing camera. You can put yourself eye to eye with the fish in their natural environment. You will be able to identify different species and how they react to your bait presentation. With an underwater fishing camera, the ice angler easily can determine the size and species of fish. (Fish can be detected with sonar, but it cannot identify what kind they are.) What is the lake bottom like? Sonar can tell you whether the lake bottom is relatively hard or soft, but it’s difficult to tell whether the lake bottom is sand, gravel, or small rock. The camera shows the bottom easily and can help avoid problems. The underwater fishing camera is also great for entertainment. You can watch fish and their reactions, even if they aren’t biting. It is also great to just record your fishing adventure so you can bring it home and show all your friends and family. There are different models of underwater fishing camera and video mechanisms for you to choose from. Use an underwater camera for fishing or diving purposes, or as a supplemental piece of equipment used for ice fishing. You should be able to see under water from about two feet up to 50 feet. Average viewing distance in fresh water is five to ten feet. In saltwater, the average is seven to fifteen feet. You can easily attach the underwater fishing camera to a standard down rigger. Using a standard release clip in reverse the camera is attached to the cable just above the cannon ball. The current will make the camera look backwards at your bait while you fish. For high-speed fishing your underwater fishing camera can be towed through the water on the HST (high-speed tow) accessory. With the HST accessory you can tow the camera up to 12 knots and have your lures drag directly behind the camera to catch any and all strikes on video. The camera can look straight down or to the side, and even look slightly back up towards the surface. They are fully adjustable and versatile. There are several options for controlling the camera while in the water. There’s a stabilizer fin for high current areas and a camera rotation handle for low current areas. By turning the cable with the handle the camera head will rotate with the cable. Some underwater fishing cameras have the ability drop cameras with as much as 1000 feet of cable. Beyond 500 feet you have to add special video amplifiers which add cost to the system. A submersible, waterproof video camera will mount to any standard camera tripod and work just as well above the water for surveillance, sport activities, wild life viewing, swimming pools, and even for security around homes and businesses.
